The Car Mountain Castle is nYx’s big build of Season 3, standing on Car Mountain (the nickname came from a mis-typed “Cat Ear Mountain”). He posted his materials list on 24 October 2024 under the announcement that he had returned. 1 The stone came from prop, whose farm supplied well over ten shulkers of it, smelted with kelp as fuel.
Step out of the Nether portal and the castle is the first thing you see, which nYx showed off as work went on: “this is the view you get rn if you come out of portal”. 2
On 16 November he was down to “two more towers and we are done with exterior”, 3 and on 17 November he formally declared “after hard work and perseverence, i finally conclude the exterior of the castle to be complete”. 4 Prop’s reaction in chat: “damn nyx castle puts my castle to the trash”. 5 (Compare prop's Castle.) See also Car Mountain Castle Exterior Complete.
By January 2025 nYx was calling it, in his own words, a “hogwarts ahh castle”, and announced “time to start working on interiors”. 6 7
