Car Mountain

Car Mountain started as a simple request on 1 July 2024. nYx asked whether the cat-ear-shaped mountain was free to claim ^{1 2}.

prop checked and delivered the twist: there was an ancient city under the mountain, and “quite possibly u have managed to claim the largest double ancient city structure purely by accident because u wanted the cat ear mountain” ³. His ancient-city map backed it up.

The name wobbled between “Mount Car Ear”, “Cat Ear Mountain”, “Cat Mountain” and plain “Car”, and the last shorthand won out. The in-game waypoint reads “Car Mountain (nyx)” at -1492 141 -286 ⁴. nYx planned a hidden medieval castle in the peaks and talked about what he would do “after im done with castle” ⁵; the result is Car Mountain Castle, whose exterior was declared finished in November (Car Mountain Castle Exterior Complete).

The mountain was a landmark for the whole server. nYx pointed out that it can be seen from prop’s base ⁶, and prop kept his netherite gear and ender chest up there, even announcing that he needed “to discuss real estate in the car mountain” for an underground project ^{7 8}.
