It started as a way to pass the time. On 28 April 2024 prop pinged everyone with an “ASMP EVENT SERVER”: “we have some spare time till 1.21 is out… so why not we take on a good challenge”, namely the Wither Storm from Minecraft: Story Mode. 1 The boss came from the Cracker's Wither Storm Mod on Forge 1.20.1, a giant that eats chunks and tracks players around the world.
He announced the launch for 1 May at 6:45 pm in voice chat and planned to record it for YouTube. 2 The test run in Birth of the 'Axolotl Storm' had been gear-heavy; for the real thing he reset the world around 18:45 (“i was resetting world”). 3 Everyone was deopped, advancements were revoked and kill @a cleaned off the test gear, a fair start for all. 4
The session had hiccups. DeathHack127 (Levi) had mod trouble, and the chat suggests it ended with him deleting every mod except the Wither Storm pack. 5 Prop refused to start short-handed: “i aint starting with 2 people”. 6 When nYx, DeathHack127 and he got going, DeathHack127 declared “prop best at pvp confirmmed” 7
