By the early autumn of 2021 Axolotl SMP Season 1 had gone quiet. What woke it up, by prop’s own account, was YouTube: easy, efficient farm designs from the channel ianxofour. “Inspired by the design I start being active on the server again” 1.
His return pulled others back in a chain reaction. As he put it, it “slowly led to kira and kart coming back which led to suresh coming back” 2, and finally abi too. When abi’s Japanese house (see Abi's Japanese House) showed prop how few major builds the server actually had, he started gathering materials for what he thought would be “a smol nether tunnel to connect up all the portals safely” 3.
Nobody had planned anything beyond that. But then, “boom”, the entire active player base was working on the tunnel 4, and it turned into the “pog nether hub”, a spontaneous community project. It is recorded at Nether Hub and Tunnels.
With everyone back and busy, the server soon had enough going on to need a government: see the founding of the Council in December.
