The honey farm began as a plan, not a place. In late October 2021 prop said “we are going to build the honey farm in the end or nether”. 1 abishek insisted it was “a community farm”, 2 and everyone hunted for bee nests to supply it, see Honey Farm Rush. The design came from a YouTube video that IRIS and Kart kept sharing around.
It went up on the nether roof, and the early days were scrappy. IRIS’s bees ended up “flying in nether roof”. 3
On 14 November the farm produced nothing. kira shrugged “yeah honey farms are always slow”, 4 but prop checked the logs and found that IRIS had killed the bees. The Great Bee Cull
Prop’s answer was to move the operation: “build it in end”, the End being a place where bees can sleep. 5 In the meantime, the nether-roof version grew into a large operation with a breeding area and trapdoors to contain the bees. Overcrowding sent bees leaving the hives, and abishek’s verdict was “IT IS NOT A ISSUE”. 6 See Bee Overload.
