Honey Farm and Shop (End)

In mid-November 2021 abi (IRIS on Discord) promised “atleast a mini honey farm” in the End; honey was needed for the planned tree farm. ¹ On 19 November he posted four pictures and announced “the Opening of the honey shop in THE END”. ²

The farm itself is a 64-module, one-chunk bee farm near the End ship and the Veteran Base portal, with thousands of bees, one sorter for honey and one for honeycomb, a glass bottle cache and a decorated End-ship look. ^{3 4} prop helped on the redstone with a dropper-vator and a comparator clock, and pointed out that it was a “decorated shop place with factory tours”. ⁵ It also made his PC crash. ⁶

Griefing, the joke

prop immediately posted a fake griefing of the brand-new shop, taken in a singleplayer copy of the Alternate Timeline backup, and warned that a single dragon respawn would wipe it out. ^{7 8} Given the real griefing of weeks earlier, it landed uncomfortably well.

Afterwards

Visiting the End was a chore, so abi kept a stash of honey at home: “incase anyone want honey u need not go to end”. ⁹ Five years later, when the original world came back, he wrote “i am so happy the honey farm is not broken”, adding that “it is break only if bees are changed”. ^{10 11}
