The Honey Block Race

In November 2021 Kart and abi bred bees and built a honey farm on the nether roof to chase honey blocks, and learned that honey is slow.

Event ASMP S1 13 Nov 2021

Honey blocks became the obsession of 13 November 2021, in the middle of Season 1’s bee craze (see Honey Farm Rush). Kart and abi bred bees and built a honey farm on the nether roof (see Nether Roof Honey Farm), and the race was on to turn the output into blocks.

The count was kept in public. Kart announced the “6th honey block aquired” 1, and abishekishere shouted “MAKE NEST” at the bees 2. Not everything went smoothly: the bees were angered when abi took the honey, and Kart’s totem ended up being used. The farm design did work in the end, but the supply was thin, and Kart eventually admitted the group was “30 honey blocks short” 3.

kira summed it up the next day with the voice of experience: “yeah honey farms are always slow” 4.
