Before the Nether had proper tunnels, it had prop’s sky bridges. In July 2021 he counted “4 portals connected to that path network” 1: one by Suresh’s base, one at the fortress that served the village, one at the end of the sky path for the starter-base area that he, GrimWatch and kira shared 2, and one on the fortress that was Kart’s 3. Suresh later strung rails between them: “I connected all portals with rails” 4.
On 14 July prop turned the idea into a plan: “fam make nether portal and join with the main bridge in the sky”, and he called the result “a rough nether hub” 5 6. His sketch (the dotted grey lines are “loong continour cobblestone brisge in the sky” 7) shows every player’s portal wired into one main line.
The readers record that the network was replaced in spirit by the community tunnels and hub of late September 2021. That successor is Nether Hub and Tunnels; the later roof network is Nether Roof Portal Network.
