On the Earth map, prop’s Antarctica was a tiny, snowy nation, and in July 2023 it had a growth spurt, announced as news bulletins in the international-news channel.
On 16 July: “prop discovers biggest coal deposit of antartica” 1. The reaction was the standard geopolitical one. Snake replied “america on their way” and Kart added “Iceland coming your way” 2 3.
On 18 July came iron: “prop hires villagers to use their mysitcal powers to summon golems of iron to farm infinite iron” 4. On 22 July he went further, “revolutioniz[ing] iron forever after curing zombie villagers” 5, backed by a hand-drawn guide to curing them (prop had pulled out a paper sketch packet to draw it). He also posted “leaked images” from his research station that claimed to explain Antarctica’s “sudden growth in economy and power” 6, and the first redstone machine in the country, the Antarctic Tree Farm.
