Super SMP was never meant to be a season. It was the side door of Axolotl SMP Season 4: a modded survival world running next to the vanilla server, reached by typing /server super from inside it. The friends mostly called it “the super server” or “the superhero one”, and for a few weeks in spring 2025 it was where most of them actually wanted to be.
Its own channel was opened under the title “an unrelated side server called Super SMP”. That title is, more or less, the whole official position: Super SMP is not an Axolotl season, and the chat never tried to number it like one.
How it began
It started as an experiment. On 14 April 2025, two days after Season 4 was first proposed, prop pinged nYx and kira with a suggestion: a superhero add-on called Fsang18’s Heropack, built on the Palladium mod. His pitch was disarmingly modest: “not for actual smp”, just to try it for fun. 1 nYx agreed it could work as a “minismp”, and prop said he would install it straight away. 2 That exchange is catalogued as The superhero side server opens.
Three days later, on 17 April, prop restarted the superhero server and told nYx to join: survival mode, “fresh world”. 3 The same morning he had been careful to explain, in the chat, that the vanilla server was “just good old minecraft” and that the superhero one was a separate thing that stayed “open in the side”. 4 5 Season 4 itself officially launched the next day, so the two servers were born almost back to back.
Getting there
Super SMP shared a network with the vanilla world, so you did not need a new address, just a command. When Hayan logged into the vanilla server on 26 April and started fiddling with his skin, prop pointed out that he was on the wrong one: “this is vannilla server, not super one, do /server super”. 6 Newcomers were walked through getting onto that network. On 16 May a new Discord member who happened to be called Super was welcomed, sent to run the vpn add command, and given the Minecraft server’s address. 7 That was the address of the shared server rather than of the superhero world specifically, and the chat does not say whether he ever crossed over.
The filler arc
On 29 April prop opened the dedicated channel and pinged Hayan, kira, Kart and nYx, telling them to read the channel title. Hayan took one look and called it “Prop’s Superhero Server”. Prop’s reply was stern: “this channel is what the channel title says”. 8 Hayan then suggested the description should read “Axolotl smp filler episode”, or just “Filler arc”. 9 The idea is recorded in Filler Arc: a side story that runs between the real seasons, with no stakes and a lot of capes. Kart’s contribution to the naming session was a single word, “shazam”. 10
The chat suggests the server was superhero-flavoured throughout, though prop himself only ever insisted on the channel title.
What people did there
The sources give a handful of snapshots rather than a full history.
- Titanium. The mod added its own metals. On 3 May, Kart asked nYx for his raw titanium and offered diamonds in exchange; the two haggled over the price. 11
- Maps. That same evening nYx shared his map and suggested the others try exploring in the opposite direction, after which Hayan, prop and nYx posted their maps for comparison. The chat suggests this was the superhero world, but it does not say so outright. 12
- Arc reactors. Hayan put in what he called “crazy grind” and ended up with two arc reactors. His own summary, from 31 May: “I am iron man”. 13
- Iron farm. In June, prop asked kira which iron farm he had made on the super server. The answer was a “gnembon quad w/pillager”, an efficient design from the technical-Minecraft crowd. 14
A pull on Season 4
Super SMP and the vanilla world competed for the same small group of players, and the superhero server mostly won. On 15 May, when prop floated building the Roundtable Hold as the vanilla world’s shared base, nYx wanted it built on the superhero server instead: “face it bro aint no one playing vanilla”. 15 Hayan agreed, saying they could do it in the super server and that he was down immediately. 16 Prop replied that he was already logged on. 17
Others weren’t so sure of the comparison. When Hayan told newcomer Akshay7432 about his reactors, prop chipped in that “this server” had “no progress”, which reads as a verdict on the vanilla world he was standing in. 18 Even so, on 3 June, after prop pinged him and Saitama to come play, Hayan answered that he would “rather go super server”. 19
Legacy
The last time the chat mentions Super SMP as a place people had actually played, it is June 2025: prop asking about an iron farm. After that the side server fades out of the record, while Season 4 itself dwindled and prop moved on to the Create-based season in September.
What it left behind is mostly a vocabulary. “The super server” meant a world where you could be Iron Man; “filler arc” gave the friends a way of talking about side projects without having to defend them as seasons; and the maps and reactors are the only trace that, for a few weeks, the unrelated side server was the real one.
