On the Earth map, Mero settled in New Zealand. The base sits on hilly ground at about 11536, 64, 3183, a spot prop marked on the shared map as a waypoint. 1
It was a lot of work before it was a home. Mero cleared the land himself, which “took me a heck a lotta time”. 2 Then came the infrastructure: a road, “cos concrete” so slow to lay, 3 and a shelter for his plane. “After buildin that road and shelter for plane me tied,” he wrote. 4
The house itself was still a plan. In early July 2023 Mero explained that the area was just the base, with a modern house to follow, and that he was farming dye for it, having “already got some light gray dye”. 5 Prop noted on 9 July that it was still unfinished. 6 The chat does not show a finished house.
