Cherry Tree Farm

When Minecraft 1.20 brought cherry trees, prop’s Antarctica needed a way to farm them. The answer was an automatic farm on the flat hill above his iron farm, run on slime-block and sticky-piston flying machines.

IRIS (Abishekishere in game) began gathering materials on 16 August 2023 (“cherry tree farm materials ready”), ¹ and on the 24th the farm was “under comstruction”. ² Early notes follow a Ray’s Works design; by 28 August prop was talking about a ShulkerCraft one that “dropped a cherry tree farm”, and asked why its list did not use slime. ³

IRIS pushed for it: “if u can complete the cherry tree farm then it would be grat”. ⁴ Plans also called for a large melon-to-bone-meal source, which RJ could build.

By 9 September the farm was finished. prop reported, “we built the cherry tree farm out of emerald blocks from the farm”, meaning the villager trades paid for it. ⁵ Its purpose was to supply cherry wood to the giant cherry tree prop was raising next to it, whose lower trunk he was already measuring. ⁶ The tree itself was unfinished, with purpur planned as its trim.
