Season 2 ran on a whitelist, and in the last week of June 2022 nobody could get on it. On 22 June nYx asked prop “why am i not whitelisted again?” 1, and prop’s short-term fix was blunt: “i turned off whitellist” 2.
The real trouble was the process. kira spelled out the right way to add someone, with some heat:
1) make sure username already doesn’t exist in whitelist 2) turn off whitelist 3) ask person to join 4) add to whitelist 5) turn on whitelist Its that simple you don’t have to do it every fucking time 3
Prop insisted it did not work, so kira ran the commands himself (“!console whitelist on”) and proved the point: “it does work bro” 4 5. The two traded insults over it, which is the “whitelist argument” the readers remember.
The drought did not end there. On 30 June Saitama still could not see the server (“it ain’t showing”) 6, and IRIS was asking kira to whitelist him 7. See Offline Mode and the Whitelist Dance and Whitelist Cleanup for the larger story of the whitelist.
