prop wrote up the very beginning of Axolotl SMP Season 1 on 2 October 2021, looking back at the first days of the season. His list of who started: “prop , kart , kira , deathhax , grimwatch , omen (deathhax’s friend)”. 1
Those six were the founding population. prop was first on and, in his words, “made a ravine house thing to get some iron and start”, 2 the origin of prop's ravine house. Necro dropped in briefly and left again.
The first notable event came a few days in. Kart found the first diamonds and was first through to the Nether, where he “lost the diamonds anyway”. 3 The reason: “turns out the portal was on a fortress”. 4 It set the tone for a recurring legend; Kart and lost loot would be linked for years (see Kart Always Loses Everything).
It was a small start for a season that would run into 2022.
