On 13 December 2021 kira dropped the news that would shape the end of Season 1: “1.19 will be axolotl s2” 1. A new season meant a new world, and the old one, with everything the friends had built in it, would be reset.
The reaction came the next day. Kart was the first to feel the loss, and what Kart mourned was the gear: “i be super sad if we reset the entire thing bc Netherite tools weapons and etc” 2. Then came the negotiator’s route, a bribe offered to kira: “i’ll pay you to not reset the world (64 diamonds)” 3.
IRIS took the philosophical view. Watching the argument, IRIS said “that is when i realised minecraft is pointless” 4, the thought of every world eventually being wiped, however much effort went into it.
The 64 diamonds did not stop the reset. The reasoning behind it is set out in Reset for 1.19 Explained, and the new season arrived as Axolotl SMP Season 2.
