The Technoblade statue reveal of Season 2 ended in a war (The Technoblade Statue Reveal, The Technoblade Statue War). prop filmed it, and then spent weeks editing the result. On 19 September he was still working through the finale footage, in which nYx is killed and DeathHack127 spams “sacrifse for blood god” in chat. prop admitted that he “remain[ed] oblivious to nyx’s death” for two minutes while recording 1 2.
The project hit snags. On 4 October prop’s audio had failed, and he asked whether anyone else had recorded the reveal event 3. Two days later he was “hyped as fuck” 4 and then reported “its done da” 5. The video came out on 7 and 8 October under two names. On YouTube it was “Kid starts a war in the name of Technoblade” 6, and in Discord it was “Axolotl SMP Summarized (sort of) and the ‘Komedi War’” 7. The war itself had been fought on 9 to 11 August 2022 (The Technoblade Statue Reveal). In the video’s description prop wrote that the footage was “literally about a month old” and that most of the structures in it had since been heavily upgraded 6.
The video also served as story. Looking back on it in February 2023, prop gave it a lore ending: the war destroyed the world, and everyone “wake[s] up in a new world that looks off” with amnesia. He called this “random bullshit plot”, a way to close Season 2 and begin the modded Season 2.5 8.
