The Cursed Hide and Seek Event

It began as a private game. On 2022-03-09 Suresh announced “i am hiding in your base” and stayed hidden in prop’s base for ages while prop hunted him with freecam, finally spotting him thanks to some hidden trapdoor lighting. ¹ Prop liked it enough to say “we shd do this server wide”. ²

The plan grew into a MrBeast-style hide and seek with a one-hour seeker and a reward, held in a huge arena prop built near nYx’s Japanese house. Prop called it “decent enough stress test” for the server and, on 2022-03-10, put it “a good 1.5 weeks from now”. ^{3 4}

Then the calendar did its worst. kira and DeathHack were away for three days, and as prop lamented, “last minute everyone having all their exams and trips”. ^{5 6} The date slid from late March to a Saturday Saitama could not make, and then to April Fools’ Day. By then Kart, nYx, Saitama and DeathHack all had other commitments. On 2022-04-01 prop wrote “this event is cursed” and deleted it. ⁷
