On 1 August 2021, kira announced “gold for sale at veterans base now” and told shoppers to look for “a golden tent next to the book shop” at Veteran Base 1 2. The price was one diamond for eight gold blocks, “will decrease the price once I have enough stock” 3. It was one of the first shops in the diamond economy, and it was restocked a week later 4.
Kart was the best customer, spending his gold on golden apples (Kart's golden apple diet) and nagging: “i need more gold lol” 5. In October the tent was wrecked in the end-crystal “battle” between Kart and prop, and rebuilt in stone bricks. kira was not amused: “wtf dude you broke my gold shop and replaced with stone bricks” 6 7.
By late November a copper shop and “metal scrapyard” had joined it, selling copper blocks at 12 for a diamond and iron blocks at 3 diamonds a stack 8 9 10. In December kira cheered that “my coppah finally sold” 11. Kart kept asking for restocks (“restock ur shops pls”, “ur gold and copper”) and also tried to buy about eight stacks of cobbled deepslate 12 13 14.
