When Kart went solo early in Season 1 he lived in an underground room at the edge of a badlands biome 1. It held the server’s first Nether portal, a lava-bucket “dream-style” build at about -96 / 11 / 40 2, with a cobble structure at the underground entrance 3. It also held the first diamonds, and the place where Kart was caught duping 4.
“Not a base”
Nobody else was impressed. prop insisted that a “HOLE IN THE GROUND WITH STAIRS is not a base” 5, though he did use its exposed spider spawner to kill a cave spider 6. The hole held barrels and a brewing system. IRIS’s TNT blew it up in November 2021, prompting Kart’s “griefing my base” 7 and prop’s observation that the hole “was made slightly bigger” 8.
In January 2022, during the laptop fight, IRIS proposed voting to make “kart hole big for him like a mega base” 9. See The Kart's Hole Motion and the Laptop War.
Relic
Prop renovated the hole in March 2022 and announced Kart would revert it, “the last time you are gonna see it this beautful” 10.
Years later prop remembered Kart’s argument that his base was significant enough to count as history. Prop’s rebuttal: Kart “was actively living in that hole” 11, so it could not be a relic.
