The Cobble Factory was prop’s “omega cobble gen”, a TNT-duper feeding a lava-and-water cobblestone generator 1, and in October 2021 it was the most productive thing on the server.
Prop gathered the materials on 14 October and went looking for a secluded, safe spot 2. kira suggested the End or somewhere far from other builds 3. The farm went up near Kart’s base, with help from abishek (IRIS). On its first runs prop said it filled 5 to 6 double chests in under two minutes 4, which works out to roughly 120k items an hour 5 and made it “currently fastest farm on the smp” 6.
It was also temperamental. Prop’s own tally was “AFTER THE MACHINE BLOWING UP LIKE 4 TIMES” 7, and signs were left telling people not to switch it on. On 16 October he announced he was making it private 8, though IRIS could take cobble whenever he wanted.
The name then grew from the machine to its home. Prop built an industrial-style building around it, with iron blocks, a bridge from the creeper farm area, and plans for his own super smelter 9. In the screenshots he simply posted “this is the cobble factory” 10. By March 2022 it was the server’s answer to “do we have a stone farm?”: “Cobble farm IRIS made” 11.
