Tweakeroo and Freecam

Tweakeroo (with its required library malilib) is a client-side mod that bundles little conveniences: auto-eating, auto-clicking, and a detached “freecam” view. Across several worlds it was the group’s quiet standard issue, and it kept starting the same argument.

Is freecam cheating?

In October 2021 kira ruled that “Tweakaroo is allowed on the server”. ¹ prop added the fine print: freecam only breaks the “rules” if you use it for an unfair advantage, “like using it to find caves or fining amathyst geodes spawners and ores”. ² Kira pointed out that the seed was public on Chunkbase anyway, which prop confirmed with “seed is public anyway”. ³

A month later prop was sharing Tweakeroo for freecam (a handy way to inspect the lava under the Perimeter) and reminding people that malilib was “a required library fro tweakeroo and minihhud”. ⁴ Kira’s most-quoted ruling came on 17 November:

freecam is like xray without being illegal ⁵

He told abi not to abuse it, while noting he was “already allowing math exploits to find diamonds”. ⁶

Later seasons

In July 2022 prop used Tweakeroo’s freecam to watch wardens, and kira settled it for the season: “this is ‘anarchy’ server”. ^{7 8} The next month the Season 2 mod list recommended it with malilib so players could AFK farms with auto-eat and safe auto-attack. ⁹

On ASMP Earth the mod had become part of the furniture. When someone suggested an auto clicker, prop shut it down: “we dont need”, “we have tweakeroo”. ^{10 11}
