The first server ran on nYx’s laptop, and it behaved like one. On 26 April 2021 he apologised for a gap: “I had to go out and my dad made sure that i shut down the laptop before going out.” 1 Worse, the IP changed whenever he reconnected, so on 28 April he asked for a channel to post it in. 2
The problem followed the group into the Mekanism season. After a power cut on 26 May: “fucking ip changed during powercut.” 3 An attempt to automate it failed on “port forwarding or something like that,” so the new IP kept being posted by hand. 4 See also The auto-IP bot.
