On 25 September 2021 kira decided that, “for security reasons”, the whitelist should be on 1. prop had a video in mind, a FitMC piece about griefers on 2b2t, and posted it with “this?” 2.
The reason for the panic was a fact easy to forget about Season 1: the server ran in offline mode. “Anyone could just enter anyone’s name and come,” prop pointed out, a “whitelist bypass” 3. He had even tried the console, only for it to tell him that the whitelist was “already turned on”, to kira’s amusement 4.
Kira reassured him that the whitelist was why they had one at all, and that there was another safety net: “bruh we have backup every 1hr of gameplay” 5. Only seven or eight backups were kept 6, but he also had a month-old one on Google Drive. Prop’s answer was to admit he had forgotten about backups 7.
