The Move to the North-West Corner

Season 4 of the Axolotl SMP was only days old when prop decided the desert village at spawn was not where the team would settle. On 21 April 2025 he announced he was “packing my shit to move to the new location i found for base” ¹ and dropped a waypoint into chat for the new site at -673, 92, -814 ². It sat in the north-west corner of the world, the spot later catalogued as the North-west Corner Base.

Moving day

prop hauled the stash out of the Desert Village Spawn first. The rest of the crew followed: abishek arrived, then kira, and nYx was kept in the loop from afar. The first hours were pure settler chores: deforesting the hillside, starting a food island, and arguing over how the base itself should be laid out. kira wanted to design it themselves rather than copy a layout nYx had sent from a video, and prop agreed on one condition, that the design could properly “accomodate all 4 palyers” ³.

Valuables turned into a small dispute of their own. With everyone’s diamonds and gold in play, prop laid down the law: all valuables go in one chest, not “some random large chest”. He pointed at the one sitting on the lodestone and declared “this chest is THE CHEST” ⁴. kira, a little pointedly, asked for his own valuables to be put in it too.

The progress report

By evening prop posted a progress report for nYx: most of the stash moved from the desert village to the possible base location, a mining tunnel started nearby, a massive cave explored, plenty of diamonds found, and horses tamed ⁵. He had also, it seems, chosen the spot partly for the scenery.

The corner base became the home of the short-lived Season 4. Chat later suggests interest faded by early May, but moving day was the moment the season briefly had a real home.
