Auto-restart and RAM troubles

On 7 December 2023 the Limbo server’s memory was getting out of hand. prop’s first report: “server ram usage is sky rocketting”. ¹

His fix was a scheduled restart, and he was, in his own words, “so proud to inform that i have setup auto restart for the server”. ² The schedule: “every 2 days at 3 am the server will auto restart”. ³ He had done it alone on the The Pterodactyl Panel.

kira, who runs the host, asked the question that mattered: “you mean the docker running the server right?” ⁴ prop clarified that it was a “ptero feature only”, a schedule inside the panel, not something done on the machine itself. ⁵

The next day the logs show the server announcing “Server is stopping…” again and again, the start of the Restart Loop of December 8. ⁶ A later episode in the same panel is the Pterodactyl Schedule Loop.
