Ancient City Warden Deaths

Over three days in August 2023, an ancient city on ASMP Earth cost Abishek his gear again and again.

Day one

On 13 August the server announced that Abishek “was doomed to fall by Warden” ¹. kira used the moment for a lesson:

its the only mob in the game youre not meant to kill ²

Day two

The next morning IRIS, Abishek’s Discord name, posted a screenshot of the city and a plea: “help me boiss”, because all his gear was gone ³. He said he had been sneaking and did not know why the Warden had spawned. prop was unsympathetic: he should have built a warden switch first, and it was best to assume everything was lost.

Day three

On 15 August Abishek was back in the city with prop digging down and placing water to help. Abishek fell from a high place twice and was shot by skeletons three times ⁴, then was “slain by Warden” ⁵. A sonic shriek finished him off a moment later. prop was slain by the Warden too, and Abishek asked, “bro why u fight him” ⁶.

The city was not done with them. At the end of the month IRIS was cornered by three Wardens, a story told in Three Wardens and the Ancient City Rescue.
