41 deployers and the brass dispute

On 4 November 2023 prop worked out how to make a Create mining machine completely safe from lava. Twenty-five deployers in front of the 5x5 drill head would place temporary deepslate and stop the machine itself being destroyed, but lava could still leak in from the sides of the tunnel, so another 16 were needed: “25 + 16 = 41 deployers for 100% lava proofing” ¹. Each deployer demanded an electron tube, casing and a brass hand, and prop posted the recipes in the chat.

The deployers got built, and the cost became clear a few minutes later. IRIS told prop “chill i made all the deployer u asked” ². prop’s reply was “41?” followed by the dreaded “dont tell me u took my brass” ³. IRIS had done exactly that and offered to make brass back, whereupon prop settled into a refrain of “bro” and a final “i feel used”. IRIS, meanwhile, was announcing “41 deployers da” on the server side ⁴.

The machine itself ran aground on a more mundane problem. The contraption’s parts could not be glued together as hoped (“we cant glue them bro” ⁵), and the plan was postponed. On 5 November kira summed the dispute up in two words, our brass ⁶. The mine is described under Prop's Elevator and Mine.
