Axolotl Tank

The tank began as a pet project. On 15 July 2021, prop had “made a tank for my axoltl” ¹. He soon noticed that the dark water below Y63 behind tinted glass was where axolotls and glow squids spawned naturally ², and the tank filled up: five axolotls, then seven, including a white one ³.

By 19 July it had become a deliberate spawn box, one that mimicked axolotl spawning conditions, fully dark and below sea level. Prop presented it as “axolotltank” ⁴, while correcting himself on who had built it: kira ⁵. Kira marvelled on 20 July at “so many axolotls sheeeeeeeeeesh” ⁶. Prop and kira bucketed some up into an “axolotl army” ⁷ to try on an ocean monument. See Axolotl army and Axolotl Mania.
