The P.P.P Box

prop's promised respawn kit, the Perhaps You Perished Parcel, which Levi and Kart pestered him about for months.

Curiosity ASMP S1 item

On 28 September 2021 prop posted the price list for a death-recovery kit he called the Perhaps You Perished Parcel, soon known as the did-you-die box or the “p.p.p box”. It was a shulker of maxed gear: Protection 4, Thorns 3, Unbreaking 3, Mending diamond armour, an Unbreaking and Mending elytra, a maxed sword, maxed silk touch and fortune picks, an axe and a shovel, with free totems, golden carrots and rockets. The labour came to 32 diamonds, and the total to 80 after a 17-diamond discount, which prop had bumped up from the 12 he first calculated. 1 2 3

The long wait

Demand outran supply. Levi asked about the price and about getting one with elytra and rockets. 4 A “Did you die box [Kart Edition]” was to return Kart’s lost netherite. 5 On 4 October prop crossed the item off his list: “done decided to not even make these”. 6

That did not stop the pestering. Levi demanded his box again and again (“Stop gearing up ani and do my ppp box”), later offering three stacks of diamonds for it. 7 8 prop replied that the boxes cost a fortune in XP and emeralds and that he only made them piece by piece when someone asked. 9 10

Kart, meanwhile, offered a cheerful alternative reading: “ppp stands for Pro Player PLayz lol”. 11

By the end of November the idea had come full circle. kira sold one for 78 diamonds, calling it the biggest transaction, and prop noted a whole did-you-die box’s worth of gear lying around on the Nether roof. 12 13
