prop and kira used a Xisuma trick (a boat, a log-out and an open trade window) to dodge the cartographer's rising prices and mine stacks of emeralds.

In July 2021 prop learned from a Xisuma video how to beat the cartographer’s price hikes, which climb after every trade. On 19 July he announced that “we have a awesome way to bypass the 16 ems everytime for cartographer”. 1

The trick needs two players. prop sat the villager in a boat and logged out, so the villager vanished from the world. kira kept the trade window open on his side and kept trading. The relogs crashed kira’s game again and again, but the trades kept working. On 20 July prop announced it: “wait we are performing the trades of centuray”. 2

They got one emerald per glass pane and ended with more than six stacks of emeralds, enough that prop’s tools were repaired as well. On 22 July they did it again, this time for “4 stacks of ems”. 3

The trades took place in the Omega trading hall. The sessions are an early example of the Axolotl habit of finding the cheapest legal way to break the economy.
