The Stronghold-less Border

A week into Season 4, prop let the group in on the cleverest thing about the world, and it was the border. The 2,000-block world border sits inside the first stronghold ring, so the world contains no stronghold at all. His reveal opened with “the worldborder” ¹.

Without a stronghold there is no way into the End, and so: “nobody is beating the dragon without a stronghold” ². Prop called the result “100% forced slow progression” ³, a way to stop the season being rushed to its conclusion.
