The Lost Backups

In May 2023 kira discovered he had somehow lost the latest Axolotl backups, with only a Season 1 file from Google Drive left.

Event ASMP S2.5 26 May 2023

On 26 May 2023, kira told prop and IRIS: “I lost latest backups for axolotl somehow”. 1 This was during Axolotl SMP Season 2.5.

He followed up with what he still had, “ig this is the latest backup that I have”. 2 It was a Google Drive file named 2021.11.19_11-55-27.zip. That was from Season 1 (Axolotl SMP Season 1), taken after the restore on 2021-11-07, so the newest copy he had was well over a year old.

A few days later, on 29 May, IRIS asked whether that was the one on the backup server. 3 The lost archives are part of the museum’s wider backup story: see Season 1 Backups and, later, backup.axolotl.pink Opens.
