On 18 April 2024 kira asked prop whether the Limbo server could be scaled down, and whether its CPU ever hit full utilisation 1. Prop’s answer was “cpu never” 2. Kira didn’t wait around: “fuck it im downscaling, I need a vm for my work” 3, and minutes later the server was “running on 4 gigs ram now” 4, restarted with the new limit.
Prop’s real worry was memory rather than CPU. The recommended RAM for Create was 6 GB, he thought, but since he was the only one playing he said he could optimise, and he would ask for more if others started playing 2.
The squeeze didn’t last. On 23 April kira reported he was done with the VM and would “scale everything back to normal tomorrow” 5.
