How Did We Get Here: Rails across the End

On 19 November 2021, prop, abi and Suresh set out to connect an End city to the gateway. prop posted the city’s coordinates, 1350, 70, -561 in the End ¹, and the project grew into a bridge and rail line roughly 800 blocks long.

The clever part was the way to travel it: a boat in a minecart, which let a rider go on indefinitely. The crew captured shulkers along the way and tested the line, with prop narrating the setup (“on the minecart”) ² and then confirming arrival with a single word, “there” ³. abi followed along in the chat ⁴.
