On 26 July 2021 kira practised in creative first, then announced to the chat: “ima break bedrock now” 1. He asked whether anyone wanted to “see the first bedrock on server be broken” 2.
It did not go smoothly. He worked from the Nether ceiling, ran out of TNT and got stuck, and at one point the server logged him leaving the game 3. Eventually prop flew in to guide him, and soon after kira said: “once you came first try I got it broken” 4.
Together they built a portal on the Nether roof and fought portal linking until the overworld end was raised high enough. A soul sand elevator came next on the to-do list. The portal’s later troubles are in Bedrock-roof portal stops linking.
