On 27 July 2021 Fili went shopping from prop. He bought a max pick, an infinity bow, a sharp V axe and nine stacks of rockets. Then he set off for the End with no elytra, and without the diamonds to pay for any of it, because they were back at base. The endermen killed him.
His second try went no better. He headed to the wrong end city and fell out of the world, then did it again. The bridge bot logged it: “FiliTheLegend fell out of the world”. 1 Everything he carried was gone, and prop took the loss personally: “there goes 7 diamonds down the fucking void”. 2
No rentals
Fili asked for an elytra loan so he could try again. prop refused flatly: “i dont do rentals”. 3 He also priced a max elytra at 15 diamonds. In the end Fili paid 11 diamonds for a replacement pick, with delivery.
kira, GrimWatch and DeathHack127 were around for the spectacle. It is a small story, but it captures the early economy of the first season: diamonds were the currency, prop was the one selling, and the void took anything that wasn’t tied down.
