The Cherry Village Contract

Four days into Season 3, abishek arrived at prop’s The Cherry Village looking for somewhere to stay, and asked, “lend me one house”. The place was, in prop’s words, “my main base of operations for now” ¹.

Prop was happy to rent, but diamonds were “old school”. “i want to do a contract” ², he announced, which earned him a “such a grian u are”. The terms were as follows. In exchange for “a permanent residence in this village” ³, abishek would eventually build the nether roof food farm, with shared ownership of the result. The signature was refreshingly informal: “sign is just saying yes in chat” ⁴. abishek replied “YES” in capitals.

He also added a condition of his own. A guest house, he said, comes with food, and the wheat farm in the village was common property in the meantime ⁵.

The deal became public knowledge the next day, when Levi pitched a community hoglin farm. Prop replied that this already existed, as a contract he had made with iris, who had “rented a house in my village” ⁶ in exchange for shared ownership of a farm he would build. The villagers of the cherry village had their first landlord.
